Job Summary
This leadership role involves managing technicians, optimizing workflow, ensuring high-quality work, and maintaining strong customer relationships. The ideal candidate is a results-driven leader with a strong technical background and a passion for team development.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Workflow Management:
- Oversee and coordinate all aspects of plumbing operations, including scheduling, dispatching, and task assignment.
- Ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of all plumbing projects.
- Enforce compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of plumbing technicians.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching.
- Manage technician schedules and allocate resources effectively.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to uphold high service standards.
- Conduct inspections to ensure work meets customer expectations and industry requirements.
- Collaborate with technicians to troubleshoot complex plumbing issues.
Customer Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
- Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction by providing timely updates and professional support.
Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of plumbing activities, work orders, and service history.
- Generate reports on operational performance and recommend process improvements.
- Manage warranty claims and ensure timely resolutions.
Inventory & Budget Management:
- Oversee inventory of parts, tools, and supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Develop and manage department budgets, tracking expenses and cost control measures.
- Approve invoices related to plumbing activities and materials.
Technical Knowledge & Training:
- Stay up to date with industry trends, products, and emerging technologies.
- Provide ongoing training and mentorship to plumbing technicians.
- Ensure all safety protocols and best practices are followed.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
- Minimum 5 years of management and/or sales experience in the Home Services Industry.
- At least 3 years of plumbing experience in a leadership capacity.
- Proven expertise in team development, sales/operations, and customer relations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Preferred:
- Experience with ServiceTitan or similar dispatching software.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. and perform tasks in tight spaces.
- Frequent use of hand and power tools.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including office settings and job sites.
- Availability to work over 40 hours per week, including occasional extended shifts.
