What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIETARY COOK position at Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Bastrop?
- Responsible for ordering, stocking, preparation, serving, presentation, and documentation of the food according to established policies and procedures.
- Serve special diets when applicable as ordered by the physician and approved by the dietician.
- Ensure that meals delivered by the consulting food service agency are properly placed in the warming carts and food temperatures are within regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor the temperature of the refrigerators, warming cart and other equipment used in the dining rooms. Assist patients with beverages, and food choices when applicable.
- Works cooperatively with other members of the multidisciplinary team and contributes to a positive work environment.
- Participates in rotation of evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Performs related duties as required.
- Attend all-staff meetings and trainings as requested by supervisor.
- Attend daily shift report when reporting for duty.
- Attend all training as required by supervisor.
- Attend and actively participate daily in multidisciplinary staffing.
- Attend and participate in departmental meetings.
- Attend All-Staff meetings and participate as needed.
- Serve on projects as delegated.
Qualifications
- High school or the equivalency is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding food preparation and serving of food.
- "ServSafe" certification is preferred upon hire; must obtain "ServSafe" within six months of hire.
Salary : $10 - $14
