As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing nursing services and ensuring exceptional care delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Oversight of Psychiatric Nursing Services: Assist the Director of Nursing in supervising registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and mental health workers to deliver comprehensive nursing care according to each patient’s treatment plan.
- Assist with Nursing Care Management: Help ensure the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized psychiatric nursing care plans, including medication management and support of the therapeutic environment.
- Supervision and Staff Development: Collaborate with the Director of Nursing to provide leadership and guidance to the nursing and mental health teams. This includes supporting staff training programs, facilitating orientations, and encouraging ongoing education for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and mental health workers.
- Regulatory Compliance Support: Ensure compliance with all relevant federal, state, and local regulations, contributing to the maintenance of high standards in psychiatric nursing care and documentation.
- Leadership and Consultation: Work closely with the Director of Nursing to provide leadership and consultation to nursing staff and other care teams, ensuring effective communication and fostering a collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Associate Degree in Nursing
- License: Current RN License in good standing with the State of Louisiana.
- Skills: Strong clinical expertise in psychiatric nursing, leadership abilities, and a thorough understanding of regulatory compliance related to psychiatric care.
