What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer - Night Shift position at Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe?
Freedom Behavioral Hospital of Monroe is taking applications for two (2) full-time Security Officers to work the 6:45PM to 7:15 AM night shift.
We are a 42-bed facility specializing in acute psychiatric disorders and illnesses in adults ages 21 and up. The Freedom Team puts patient care first by driving processes to ensure quality and compliance.
The Security Officer will undertake the surveillance of our premises and protection of our staff and visitors. The security officer will be responsible for maintaining order, assisting staff with aggressive, and/or verbal behavior and maintain compliance with statutory or establishment rules and processes. They are also charged with detecting any suspicious behavior and preventing vandalism, thefts or other criminal behavior on company premises.
The ideal candidate will inspire respect and authority as well as possess a high level of observation and professionalism when interacting with staff and patients. The goal of this position is to assist the company in providing a safe and secure environment.
Responsibilities
- Will maintain a high visibility presence to promote safety and mitigate risks
- Patrol premises regularly to maintain order and establish presence
- Secure all exits, doors and windows
- Respond to alarms by investigating and assessing the situation and intervene if necessary
- Submit reports of daily surveillance activity including any incidents that may occur
Requirements and skills
- Proven experience as security officer, military personnel, or corrections officers
- Knowledge of legal guidelines for area security and public safety
- Familiarity with report writing
- Excellent surveillance and observation skills
- High School diploma is required
