What are the responsibilities and job description for the Marine Technician position at Freedom Boat Club of Ft. Pierce?
Position Summary
The service technicians are full-time employees responsible for performing all light maintenance and repairs and 100- and 300-hour services on Yamaha and Mercury 150s, 200s, 250s, and 300s on our fleet of 50 boats in Fort Peirce, FL. Technicians are provided all the equipment needed to perform essential services and repairs but should be able to provide their own tools. Tools are present if necessary. This position is expected to travel to both sites in our franchise in case of high priority repairs.
Essential Position Functions
Perform all necessary service tasks on Yamaha and Mercury motors.
Perform other light duty maintenance and repairs as needed (bilge pumps, live well pumps, batteries, etc).
Respond to issues submitted in Fleetio and diagnose/repair.
Complete your own work orders in Fleetio, close out any issues that were addressed on boats.
When on a boat, inspect all working mechanical components and fix any deficiencies as necessary, address any other open issues in Fleetio for that boat.
Conduct general routine maintenance of vessels as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills
Ability to work independently, and complete tasks in a timely manner with little to no supervision
Basic computer skills required (familiarity with Fleetio a plus)
Ability to properly diagnose and troubleshoot issues on vessels
Knowledge and familiarity with boats, boat mechanics, electrical diagnostics, boat systems, etc. required
Basic tool knowledge is a must
Experience towing trailers of any kind preferred
Ability to work outdoors in the heat for long hours
Position may involve working weekends as needed
