What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian Sweeper 1 hpd - (2025-2026) - Freedom Elementary position at Freedom Elementary School?
Freedom is looking for an individual to perform routine custodial activities one hour per day. This person would be assisting our custodian to keep Freedom a clean, orderly and safe school.
This position is 1 hour per day for 178 days per year.
(170 student instructional days, 7 planning days and 1 extended day)
Contracted days will be adjusted based upon start date.
This position is not eligible for benefits as it is part time unless combined with another position that makes full time.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and provide a copy to HR upon recommendation to hire.
Salary based on Board Appproved salary schedule for the 2025-2026 school year.

Step 0: $14.05
Step 10: $16.00
New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.)
Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year-long contract and divided by the number of remaining paychecks. This position is considered a ten month employee on the pay schedule. 4 paychecks will be paid at the end of June.
