Freedom Equipment Rentals is a locally owned and operated equipment rental company that is looking for an experienced Service Technician to repair and maintain our rental equipment to ensure the equipment stays in the best possible condition. A Service Technician will repair and maintain engines and equipment requiring mechanical, hydraulic, or pneumatic repair and perform preventive maintenance services.

Freedom Equipment Rentals services homeowners and contractors with equipment for all types of projects ranging from lawn care to major construction jobs. Job Description:
As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance and repairs on all light and heavy rental equipment. Such equipment includes Excavators, Light towers, Skid Steers, Jumping Jacks, and other small tools and more. You should be capable of performing simple duties such as oil changes, parts replacing, maintenance and some diagnostics. Occationally, you will need to travel to a job site to perform the required repairs on the equipment with a company provided service vehicle. This position is deemed a Safety Sensitive job and must pass drug/alcohol testing.

The key duties include:

• Repair, service and maintain rental equipment.
• Check equipment for safe operating features.
• Familiarize customers on equipment and assist with loading/unloading of equipment when needed
• Travel to and from the customers job site to repair or inspect the required equipment.
• Other duties as needed.
• Run diagnostic test and reading schematics
• Operate and troubleshoot equipment
• Ability to perform visual and physical inspection (pre and post-delivery) of our rental equipment
• Prioritizing equipment for service by communicating with Supervisor
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Assist customers with the loading and unloading of equipment when needed
• Process workorders and parts requests
• Perform other duties when needed

What the successful candidate will have:

• 1 years’ experience repairing and maintaining various equipment and tools.
• Mechanical ability is desired.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Must own your own tools.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and problem solve.
• Bi-lingual a plus but not required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Must pass pre-employment drug & alcohol screening as well as randoms.
• Must pass background check.
• Ability to communicate equipment issues and understand job assignments.
• Willingness to help in other areas of the shop and yard when required.
• Above average communication skills to include: two-way radios, phones, and e-mail.
• Ability to self-motivate which is required to stay on track, maintain organization, and make continuous progress.

Physical Demands/Environmental Conditions:

This position will be working indoors/outdoors

Employee will encounter varying weather conditions and temperatures.
This position will be frequently operating equipment with potential hazard.
Appropriate safety equipment and practices are required.
Must be able to lift, push/pull 50 pounds or more occasionally
Position requires standing, walking, twisting, climbing and crawling.
Position requires bending, stooping, kneeling or squatting
Must be able to wear required safety glasses and safety shoes.
Must be medically capable of performing all aspects of the job with the maximum amount of safety.

Pay: $18.00 to $30.00 per hour (depending on qualifications)

• Monday to Friday
