What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Hand/Laborer position at Freedom Granite and Stone?
Freedom Granite & Stone is a reputable machine operated shop, specializing in the fabrication and installation of custom stone countertops. We are seeking a skilled Shop Hand/Laborer to join our team. In this position you will be responsible for assisting the Shop Lead in daily activities within the shop. These activities may include the cutting, shaping, grinding, polishing, and finishing of countertops and other stone surfaces, as well as moving material.
Experience in the stone/construction industry is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate!
There are several opportunities for growth within the company! Pay is based on experience, starting at $15.00/hr!
Responsibilities:
o When needed, operate necessary machinery in the cutting, shaping, grinding, and polishing process for granite countertops and other stone surfaces.
o Execute CNC finishing with hand polishing and/or grinding to achieve desired finish.
o Assist with the transportation and handling of stone slabs and pieces throughout shop.
o Assist the Operations Manager and Shop Lead in the operation and maintenance of various tools and machinery, including but not limited to: SawJet, CNCs, grinders, polishers, etc.
Qualifications:
o Valid Driver’s License
o Ability to pass pre-employment background check.
o Proven experience in the stone and/or construction industry strongly preferred.
o Physical stamina and ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods of time.
o Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
