Funding Specialist

Summary

The Specialist, Funding is responsible for the accuracy of the funding request submitted for a wire with regard to the title specifications of the loan.

Essential Job Functions may include:

• Running of the mers application for each borrower
• Checking the property address with regard to the Freedom Mortgage Credit Risk department disaster area spreadsheet & following the appropriate credit risk guideline.
• Reviewing loan specific title documentation, including but not limited to the closing agent wiring instructions, title, CPL & errors and omissions insurance certification.
• Confirming the accuracy of closing/disbursement dates based on State guideline.
• Confirming the accuracy of loan level information based on the final underwriting approval.
• Assisting senior funding specialist with SPG/Rural correspondent wire runs
• Communicating both written & verbally with Freedom Mortgage branch employees & closing agents.
• Maintain regular and punctual attendance

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of general mortgage experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Personal/Organizational Contacts:

Some contact with others; including general public. Purpose of contacts is to provide explanation or interpretation of information. May handle confidential information and some complex matters.

Customer Service Relationships:

Requires moderate interpersonal and communication skills to ensure that customer requests or needs are met. Acknowledges and clarifies customer inquiries, requests, or complaints to ensure that needs are identified, documented and addressed.

Tasks are multiple and diverse with some interrelationship across processes. Work requires the direct application of a variety of procedures, policies and/or precedents.

Independent Judgement/Problem Solving:

Performs duties within scope of general Company policies, procedures and objectives. Analyzes problems and performs needs assessments. Uses judgment in adapting broad guidelines to achieve desired result. Regular exercise of independent judgment within accepted practices. Makes recommendations that affect policies, procedures and practices. Refers exceptions to policy and procedures to the supervisor.
