Sales Associate
The Sales Associate assists customers in finding and purchasing the required merchandise in a retail environment while encouraging customers to purchase products.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions :
Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs.
Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
Zone Merchandise.
Perform price / product look-ups.
Operate cash register and maintain knowledge of cashier procedures.
Open and close cash registers, perform tasks such as counting money, separating charge slips, coupons, and vouchers, balancing cash drawers, and making deposits.
Maintain neatness of storefront for presentation.
Responsibilities :
Required to learn company policies and procedures.
Watch for and recognize security risks and thefts and know how to prevent or handle these situations.
Housekeeping duties.
Unload merchandise from the truck.
Duties may change and associates may be required to perform other duties as assigned.
Responsible for top-notch customer service while maintaining a pleasant working environment.
Answer telephone.
Ability to pass a background check via the State of California and a drug test
Complexity of duties – Maintaining a high level of customer service while also being able to handle any complications or conflicts professionally.
Supervision received – Direct oversight from Retail Store Manager.
Supervision exercised – Indirectly responsible when instructed by Retail Store Manager on task / s that are to be accomplished.
Working conditions – Storefront environment.
Mental and physical demands – Ability to maintain a pleasant demeanor even when unfairly treated by customers, sitting, standing, lifting to 50 lbs., reaching, communication skills, and motor coordination skills (coordination of eyes, hands, and feet).
