Shipping Supervisor
Job Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for preparing shipping documentation, monitoring and guiding employees to maintain company standards on packaging and filling orders, communicating with outside departments to facilitate the product needed for open orders, maintaining records, and coordinating logistics for product shipment. The Shipping Supervisor must be detail-oriented, able to multitask, create efficiency, and be responsible, as well as eager to learn and be motivated. The candidate must also be flexible, adapt quickly to change, and be able to delegate tasks.
Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
- Continuously streamline processes to ensure accurate and quality products move from shipping to consumers.
- Order products for shipping.
- Supervise material handlers’ and scanners' daily operations.
- Ensure all employees adhere to all safety regulations.
- Ensure that company policies are adhered to by all employees.
- Keep up-to-date inventory records of finished ammunition.
- Train and maintain new employees.
- Ensure all customers are receiving their ammunition promptly and accurately.
- Communicate with customer service for concerns or reships.
- Work with safety and EHS to keep updated records.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining daily shipping needs. Doing routine Safety inspections of the departments to make sure everyone is trained according to company policies.
- Oversee/approve employees' schedules/attendance and perform 90-day and annual reviews.
- Complete other tasks as assigned accurately and efficiently.
- Understand and complete the importing and exporting process.
- Interact with and professionally supervise employees.
Qualifications:
- Experience – 2 years of Shipping/ Receiving experience preferred, but not required.
- Education – High School diploma or GED
- Supervision received – Direct oversight of the Warehouse Manager.
- Supervision exercised – Directly responsible for material handlers/scanners.
- Working conditions – Building, outside, noise, heat, cold, injury, or atmospheric exposures. Sitting, standing, climbing, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, speaking, listening, motor coordination skills, coordination of eyes, hands, and feet.
