Essential Job Duties
- Provide leadership in the kitchen in the absence of the Executive Chef, overseeing food ordering, assisting with all stages of special event planning, resident interaction, upholding hospitality promises, and ensuring that each dish leaving the kitchen meets high standards of presentation, quality, and proper portioning and temperature.
- The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in a fine dining environment within a hotel, restaurant, or private club.
- A culinary education is preferred, along with previous supervisory experience.
- The candidate must also possess the ability to plan and organize work efficiently, interpret instructions, and follow recipes.
- Microsoft Office proficient and the ability to utilize computerized inventory and ordering systems.
- Knowledge of nutrition, diet, and healthcare is a plus.
- Maintains assigned workstation in a safe and sanitary condition.
- Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code.
- Attends in-service training and education sessions as assigned.
- Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
- Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic. Ability to understand measurements and conversions.
- A minimum of three years' experience as a cook in a hotel, restaurant, club, or similar institution.
- Ability to plan and organize work, to interpret instructions, recipes, specifications, and standards.
- Knowledge of kitchen equipment operation and maintenance. Some knowledge of nutrition and diet.
