Job Summary
As a member of the Freedom Space team, you will contribute to the successful execution of the Enterprise Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) Solution (EOS), a cutting-edge program to enhance the missile warning capabilities of the U.S. Space Force. EOS integrates advanced satellite systems, ground-based infrastructure, and innovative software solutions to detect and track missile launches globally with unparalleled speed and precision. It builds on the legacy of OPIR technology by integrating modern architectures to provide resilient and real-time missile threat detection in contested environments. The project ensures a robust and interoperable system capable of meeting emerging threats, aligning with the Space Force’s mission to maintain space domain superiority and bolster national security.
As a DevSecOps Engineer on the EOS project, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure and efficient CI / CD pipelines that drive the delivery of mission-critical software for the U.S. Government missile defense system. You will leverage your expertise in Platform One tools and security practices to develop robust pipelines that enable automated code integration, testing, and deployment. You will implement gating mechanisms, ensure code quality, detect CVEs, and maintain compliance with strict security standards. This role demands a deep understanding of DevSecOps principles, automation, and best practices, along with a strong commitment to delivering secure, high-quality software. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance workflows and optimize development lifecycles is a critical aspect of this position. Your efforts will directly contribute to building a secure and reliable software ecosystem to support the EOS mission.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure CI / CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and SonarQube
- Automate software build, testing, and deployment processes to ensure efficient and reliable delivery of mission-critical applications
- Develop and implement gating mechanisms to enforce code quality, security standards, and compliance requirements
- Monitor and address Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) to maintain the security integrity of the software and platform
- Collaborate with software development and platform teams to integrate security practices throughout the development lifecycle
- Enhance pipeline observability and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment processes
- Optimize performance and scalability of build and deployment systems to meet operational and mission-critical demands
- Implement tools and workflows to monitor and manage code quality, ensuring high standards are consistently met
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits of the CI / CD pipelines and deployed environments
- Document processes, workflows, and security practices to maintain transparency and facilitate team-wide adoption
- Stay up to date on DevSecOps best practices and emerging tools to continuously improve pipeline capabilities and security posture
- Provide expertise and training to cross-functional teams on secure DevOps practices and tools
