Job Summary
As a DevSecOps Network Engineer at Freedom Space, you will play a critical role in securing and automating the infrastructure that supports our mission-critical software systems. This role combines deep knowledge of network architecture, security best practices, and DevSecOps principles to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and compliant CI/CD pipelines and cloud/hybrid infrastructure. You will be responsible for integrating security at every stage of the software development lifecycle, ensuring robust, automated solutions for code integration, testing, deployment, and infrastructure provisioning. You will work closely with software engineers to enforce best practices in network security, vulnerability management, and compliance.

Responsibilities
- Achieve rapid expertise in the existing Freedom Platform architecture
- Design and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with integrated static and dynamic code analysis, compliance checks, and gating mechanisms
- Architect, implement, and manage secure cloud and on-prem networking components in DevSecOps environments
- Enhance pipeline observability and troubleshoot issues to ensure seamless integration and rapid deployment processes
- Optimize performance and scalability of build and deployment systems to meet operational and mission-critical demands
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of network infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform
- Integrate CVE scanning and compliance reporting into CI/CD workflows
- Maintain zero-trust and least-privilege access models across all environments
- Support continuous monitoring and incident response through integration with SIEM and security alerting tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security and networking practices with evolving project and mission requirements
- Stay up to date on DevSecOps best practices and emerging tools to continuously improve pipeline capabilities and security posture
- Provide expertise and training to cross-functional teams on secure DevOps practices and tools
- Document architecture, procedures, and standards to support knowledge transfer and audits
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Network Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in DevSecOps, Networking, IT, or related roles
- Expertise in designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, or similar platforms
- Strong experience with gating mechanisms to enforce build integrity and quality standards including static and dynamic code analysis with tools such as SonarQube
- Solid understanding of Common Vulnerabilities & Exposures (CVEs) and vulnerability management & mitigation
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools for environment automation, e.g. Terraform
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks
- Strong understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes
- Strong knowledge of cloud platforms and secure deployment strategies
- Familiarity with DevSecOps frameworks and compliance standards such as NIST RMF or DoD STIGs.
- Experience with vulnerability scanning tools and penetration testing frameworks
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud services
- Ability to document workflows, tools, and processes clearly and comprehensively
- DevOps-related certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar
- Security certifications, e.g. CompTIA Security , Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- Possess or be eligible for a Top-Secret Clearance
