As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in developing a complex ground system for the U.S. Government customers.
Job Summary
As a Systems Integrations Engineer at Freedom Space, you will serve as the technical and operational lead for onboarding Mission Partners and Antenna Providers onto the Freedom Platform. This role combines elements of systems engineering, technical project management, and customer interaction to ensure successful integrations. Onboarding to Freedom entails configuring and validating end-to-end connectivity between diverse systems—including secure network setup, machine-to-machine API integrations, and overall system interoperability. You will collaborate closely with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders to deliver seamless, reliable onboarding experiences. While deep expertise in every domain is not required, the ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in one or more of the following areas: software systems, networking, RF engineering, or satellite operations and communications—along with the adaptability and technical fluency to lead complex integration efforts across disciplines.

Responsibilities
- Achieve rapid expertise in the existing Freedom Platform architecture
- Lead onboarding efforts for new Mission Partners and Antenna Providers, including technical discovery, requirements gathering, and timeline coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact between external stakeholders and internal engineering teams during integration lifecycle
- Coordinate and verify modes of operation, technical configurations, ground station connectivity, data routing, and control/data plane interfaces
- Facilitate end-to-end compatibility testing, validation, and troubleshooting
- Support the Operations Teams with regular on-call support, as well as during Launch & Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) events
- Translate mission-specific needs into clear, actionable tasks for internal development or operations teams when needed
- Maintain detailed project documentation and provide regular status updates to internal and external stakeholders
- Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings; create feature & bug tickets, contribute to planning, progress updates, and sprint reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of experience in systems engineering, integration engineering, or technical program management
- Familiarity with one or more of the following domains: Satellite ground systems and operations, RF systems and signal flow, Network architecture and IP routing, Software Development
- Strong capabilities in Agile development processes; hands-on experience with Jira and participation in Agile structured meetings such as sprint planning and backlog grooming
- Strong communication skills and experience working directly with customers and vendors
- Proven ability to manage complex technical projects and coordinate across multiple teams
- Knowledge in satellite TT&C communications, mission planning, or antenna networks
- Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) or other cloud services
- Understanding of DevSecOps workflows or CI/CD principles
- Possess or be eligible for a Top-Secret Clearance

Salary : $70,000 - $160,000
