We are seeking a Database Engineer for one of our PRIME CONTRACTS that extends through 2026 and offers exciting opportunities to support essential services and mission critical activities across the enterprise. Our mission supports the Government Corporate Management Services (CMS) by providing full life cycle support services through the sustainment, modernization, and transformation of the enterprise corporate applications. These applications are used across the government enterprise and are critical to the daily functions of thousands of users across acquisition, business, finance, HR, training, recruitment, program management, security, logistics and more. This role provides database support for ARCHIBUS and Maximo, two critical enterprise applications within the Space and Property Management, Asset Management, and Transportation Management organization. ARCHIBUS optimizes facility operations and tracks real estate portfolios, while Maximo ensures the efficient maintenance and lifecycle management of critical assets.
The selected candidate will primarily support ARCHIBUS alongside a team of four developers and system engineers and provide secondary support for Maximo with a team of three COTS experts. Key responsibilities include supporting product upgrades, maintaining Oracle databases, and ensuring system performance and data integrity. The team operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where collaboration, adaptability, and innovation drive success. Comprised of COTS experts, developers, and system engineers, the team works closely with product owners and end-users to address evolving requirements and optimize solutions through continuous feedback. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams and demonstrate a willingness to take on challenges and creatively solve customer problems.

- Database Administration and Maintenance
- Monitor and maintain the health and performance of Oracle databases.
- Perform routine database backups, restores, and disaster recovery testing.
- SQL Development and Optimization
- Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and triggers to enhance system performance.
- Create and modify database objects such as tables, indexes, and views to meet application requirements.
- Application Support and Troubleshooting
- Provide technical support for ARCHIBUS and Maximo, resolving database-related issues.
- Analyze and troubleshoot system errors, slow queries, and data inconsistencies.
- Upgrades and Patching
- Assist with version upgrades and patch management for ARCHIBUS, Maximo, and Oracle databases.
- Perform pre- and post-upgrade testing to ensure seamless functionality.
- Requirement Analysis and Solution Development
- Collaborate with stakeholders and developers to understand and implement customer requirements.
- Design and develop database solutions that integrate with system user interfaces.
- Data Integrity and Security Management
- Enforce data security policies and implement access controls.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across applications.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing
- Document database configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
- Share knowledge with team members to improve overall system understanding.
- Proactive Performance Monitoring
- Use database monitoring tools to identify potential bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance database efficiency.
- TS/SCI with Polygraph
- A bachelor's degree and ten (10) years of experience as a DBE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. Fifteen (15) years of software development experience may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency in SQL Server and Oracle databases
- Experience with MS Visual Studio and MS SQL Server Management Studio
- Ability to write triggers, functions, stored procedures, and packages
- In-depth knowledge of indexes and sequences
- Strong ability to analyze large datasets and develop optimal solutions for updating existing records
- Ensure data integrity when developing and implementing solutions
- Proficient in writing complex queries and views, including effective use of subqueries
- PL/SQL Experience (a plus): Proficient in creating and managing stored procedures, triggers, functions, and packages in Oracle databases.
- AWS Experience: Familiar with deploying, managing, and scaling databases in Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud infrastructure.
- AWS Relational Database Service (RDS): Experience with managing SQL-based databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, Oracle) in AWS RDS.
- Migrating Databases to AWS: Experience migrating databases to AWS, ensuring data integrity and minimal downtime during the transition process.
