Field Technician (Installer)
Freeform is the largest full-service commercial furniture dealership in the Inland NW, with locations in Boise, ID and Spokane, WA, and a strong history of growth over the past 35 years. Representing Haworth and dozens of other top-quality manufacturers, we service commercial, government, education, and healthcare accounts across Idaho, Washington, and the Inland Northwest. From designing furniture layouts to installing products to providing project management, we are committed to providing the best solution possible for our clients.
Basic Function:
- Work with Warehouse Manager to schedule and load delivery trucks.
- Load and off-load assembled and modular office furniture including desks, files, chairs and panels.
- Interact and clearly communicate with customers on-site to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Ability to troubleshoot during installation process.
- Work quickly and accurately to accomplish installation schedule.
- Capable of reading and understanding installation drawings and instructions.
Personal and Interpersonal Skills:
- Is professional in appearance and manners, with good oral and written communication skills.
- Has physical strength and stamina required to lift and move furniture, boxes, and equipment.
- Has strong work ethic and very ethical approach to the business; is punctual and self-motivated; has the ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts.
Technical and Product Skills:
- Is mechanically adept and knows how to safely use tools and equipment.
- Is capable of all installation processes: unloading, loading, staging, uncartoning, assembly, cleanup and detailing, lock installation, etc.
- Can read plans, blueprints and elevations, and understands architectural and furniture symbols.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 75lbs.
- Clean driving record
- Able to pass a drug test
- Able to pass a background check
- Ability to work overtime when necessary (up to 60 hours/week)
- Furniture installation or construction experience preferred
The position is based in Boise, but travel may be required to travel to other locations in Washington, Idaho, Oregon, and Montana.
Employment is contingent on passing background and substance screenings.
DOT physical exam and medical card required to drive company vehicles.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $24.00 per hour
