MAIN FOCUS :
The Associate Vice President for Advancement Services is a strategic leader who drives LPFCH's data strategy, prospect development, gift administration, and CRM implementation to advance fundraising success. This role blends technical expertise, strategic vision, and collaboration to unify stakeholders around data-driven solutions.

Palo Alto, CA (hybrid); the successful candidate for this role will be based in the Bay Area.
WHAT YOU'LL DO...
The Associate Vice President for Advancement Services ("AVP") is a strategic leader with the ability to envision, implement, and steward a thoughtful approach to information management, prospect development, gift administration, and process improvement in support of LPFCH's growth. Key elements of this role will be to lead the Foundation's enterprise data strategy to unite LPFCH around a shared vision for data, optimize the role of prospect research and development to facilitate donor and prospect engagement, optimize gift administration and fund management, and drive the work of Advancement Services as a key partner to help LPFCH achieve its fundraising goals. The Foundation will be starting a CRM conversion in the next year, and the AVP will play a critical role in leading the implementation of the new CRM. This role requires a combination of technical skill, strategic vision, and emotional intelligence – the AVP will regularly interface with colleagues across the Foundation to achieve buy-in for new solutions.
The AVP for Advancement Services will oversee the prospect development, data and reporting and gift administration teams and will report to the Special Advisor to the CEO. The AVP will maintain mutually respected relationships with staff across the foundation and with colleagues at Stanford University and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford to understand priorities and policies, identify challenges and socialize new business practices, reports, and tools.
The compensation range for the Associate Vice President role is $230k-$250k annually.
For candidates who far exceed requirements in experience leading teams as well as fundraising operations, information management and business intelligence and who bring significant senior leadership experience, the title of Vice President will be considered. The compensation range for the Vice President position would be $270k–$290k.
YOU'LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR...
Leadership and Strategic Direction
- Provides strategic leadership in identifying LPFCH's information needs, defining appropriate solutions and developing plans for implementation. Considers the enterprise-wide view, ensuring reporting and data help LPFCH achieve a more holistic understanding of prospects, donors, and grateful patients.
- Leads the development of strong data governance practices and policies.
- Develops the strategy to convert data into actionable business intelligence through a comprehensive understanding of development vision and values.
- Leverages the opportunity of a system conversion to implement system improvements and standardizations to facilitate full utilization of CRM.
- Helps direct the utilization of prospect research and predictive modeling to optimize portfolios and engagement of prospects, with a focus on highest value prospects.
- Provides vision and practical guidance to optimize productivity and effectiveness of gift administration and fund management business processes.
- Implements a solutions-oriented team culture that seeks continuous improvement.
- Creates strong working relationships and regular cadence of communication / meetings with key internal stakeholders.
- Create strong working relationships with external partners at Stanford University and Lucile Packard Children's Hospital to facilitate unique gift and fund situations and to ensure our reporting is meeting partner business needs.
