We are seeking a skilled Chopper Gun Operator to join our boat manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating chopper guns to apply fiberglass and resin to molds, ensuring high-quality production of boat hulls, decks, and related components.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate chopper gun to spray fiberglass and resin into molds for boat components.
- Monitor and control resin-to-glass ratio for optimal strength and quality.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper handling of chemicals and materials.
- Inspect molds and finished products for defects or inconsistencies.
- Follow work orders, blueprints, and safety guidelines closely.
- Collaborate with the laminating and finishing teams to ensure a smooth workflow.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and notify supervisors of any issues.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with fiberglass application and chopper gun operation is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with marine manufacturing or composites is a plus.
- Ability to read and follow instructions, blueprints, and technical drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, stand for long periods, and work in confined spaces while wearing protective gear.
