Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Inspection:
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of completed boats to ensure adherence to quality standards, specifications, and safety requirements.
- Verify all systems, finishes, and details meet design, operational, and aesthetic benchmarks.
- Reporting:
- Prepare and deliver detailed inspection reports to the EVP, documenting pass/fail results and any identified deficiencies.
- Maintain a log of recurring issues for continuous improvement purposes.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with internal quality assurance protocols and relevant industry standards.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and best practices for boat manufacturing quality.
- Collaboration:
- Liaise with production teams to communicate quality issues and provide actionable feedback for corrective measures.
- Collaborate with the EVP to develop and implement strategies for quality improvement.
- Final Approval:
- Serve as the final authority to approve or reject boats for delivery to customers, maintaining an impartial and thorough approach.
Qualifications
- Experience:
- Serve as the final authority to approve or reject boats for delivery to customers, maintaining an impartial and thorough approach.
- Electrical background and troubleshooting (DC and AC electrical systems).
- Background of driving boats >30ft.
- Skills:
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in using inspection tools and documenting findings in reports.
- Knowledge:
- Troubleshooting fuel and/or electronic systems for Mercury and Yamaha.
- Familiarity with boat systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
- Working knowledge of safety and quality standards in the marine industry.
- Attributes:
- Independent and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
- Certifications and Licenses:
- Valid Captain’s License.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform physical inspections, which may include bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and on-site at marinas as needed.
