Position Overview:
We are looking for a Sewing/Assembly Manager to lead a team of skilled seamstresses in assembling, sewing, and preparing fabric-based components used in boat manufacturing. This role requires experience in marine upholstery, boat covers, or textile assembly, as well as strong leadership skills to ensure quality and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage a team of 15 seamstresses, ensuring smooth workflow and production efficiency.
• Operate and supervise the use of ABM Quilter 5432 and Juki Single Needle machines for stitching and assembling fabric components.
• Review technical specifications, patterns, and work orders to ensure accurate production.
• Train team members on sewing techniques, quality control, and machine maintenance.
• Monitor and maintain inventory of materials, ensuring supplies are stocked for production needs.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure all products meet marine industry standards.
• Work closely with design and production teams to optimize efficiency and problem-solve issues.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills:
• Previous experience in marine upholstery, textile manufacturing, or sewing production required.
• Experience managing a team in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of ABM Quilter 5432 and Juki Single Needle machines
• Degree in manufacturing, industrial engineering, textile production, or a related field a plus but not required with applicable experience.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, patterns, and specifications.
• Excellent leadership, training, and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and precision.
• Bachelor's degree is a strong plus, but not a requirement with applicable experience.
