Summary
Assist Account Executives in the overall coordination of meeting rooms and/or exhibits for shows. Supervises labor crews and assists with the planning and organization of delivery, setup and dismantle of equipment at show site.
This role will help cover special events for intermittent periods of time with scheduled hours fluctuating weekly. This position will support our Audio Visual and Event Technology team. It is eligible to work a hybrid schedule, generally requiring work in-office and/or show-site 2-3 days per week based out of Chicago, IL.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Must have proficient knowledge of sound equipment, multi-media equipment, video equipment and lighting equipment.
- Must have a general knowledge of electrical and rigging requirements for all basic audio visual equipment.
- Advise meeting services on technical aspects of equipment.
- Participates in the planning and implementation of operational activities for assigned events.
- Attends pre-con meetings and assists with site surveys as needed to ensure proper planning.
- Responsible for the pulling and loading of equipment to and from show site.
- Works directly with Inventory Control to ensure complete equipment coverage on shows.
- Supervises and coordinates labor on show site to ensure that necessary activities are performed in a timely and cost effective manner.
- Oversees the installation and tracking of equipment on shows to their assigned areas.
- Responsible for maintaining accurate equipment counts on show site.
- Serves as customer service liaison to the client when the account executive is not available on show site.
- Ensure that company safety guidelines are followed and implemented on show site.
- In the absence of an Event Project Coordinator on lower revenue producing jobs, a Show Coordinator may inherit additional responsibilities.
- When not assigned to a show, assists with warehouse projects and rental duties as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Associates degree preferred. High School Diploma or Equivalent with relevant work experience required.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical documents, operation and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- The capability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must have a general knowledge of the convention, tradeshow and hotel industry.
- Must be able to drive a 24’ Non-CDL bobtail truck, or be willing to learn.
- Must maintain a valid state drivers license.
- CTS certificate preferred.
