Summary
The Operational Floor Planner provides 2-dimensional drafting services using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) software and equipment. The position will be responsible for drafting operational floor plans used for planning the execution of work. This position performs specialized floor planning tasks of low to moderate complexity at a moderate to high volume. The role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in CADD software, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments to develop and design 2-dimensional visual plans to aid in operational efficiency.
This position will support our Event & Exhibit Services team. The position follows an in-person schedule working full-time in-office and/or show-site based out of Las Vegas, NV.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operates computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) equipment and related software to produce floor plan designs, working drawings, charts, forms, technical reports, symbols, tables, and records
- Utilizes wide-format graphic reproduction equipment and related software to produce large or precision scaled documents
- Analyzes applicable codes, guidelines, rules and regulations, space and site requirements, facility requirements, operational needs, and other technical documents and reports to determine their effect on floor plan designs
- Utilizes electronic file management systems and related software to appropriately create and maintain all pertinent digital files and records according to established practices and procedures
- Employs CADD file maintenance standards, practices, and procedures as directed
- Utilizes tools and technology to obtain pertinent project site data, such as drafting scales, precision digital measurement devices, measuring tapes, laptop or tablet computers, or digital cameras
- Uses current exhibit/show floor plans to develop varying operational floor plans which enable increased efficiency through visualization and zoning of materials
- Formulates floor plans to be practical and conducive to intended purposes, such as efficient workflow, ease of navigation and operational effectiveness
- Works with operations departments for instructions on how floor plans should be zoned or laid out
- Work will be iterative in nature as we execute plans and take key learnings in order to continuously improve the floor plan outputs
- Visits show sites to observe and gain feedback on how workers are using plans to drive efficiency
- Identifies new ways of developing plans and proposes them to departments
- Collaborates with Lean/Continuous improvement Director in identifying opportunities to solve problems and run efficiency pilots/tests
- Collaborates with adjacent floor planning department to maintain file standards and other requirements of those departments
- Performs other non-supervisory duties as assigned
- Associate’s degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent training in an academic or vocational discipline that places a significant emphasis on Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) from a university, college, technical school or trade school
- Microsoft Office (required)
- 1-2 years of relevant professional experience preferred
- Autodesk AutoCAD 2018 or later preferred
- Autodesk Vault Professional preferred
- Adobe Acrobat Professional preferred
- A combination of education, experience, and demonstrated competencies will be considered if relevant to the essential duties and responsibilities
