An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data Support Officer to join the Peri-Operative and Critical Care team, the role involves working closely with clinicians to collect and input data which helps us to contribute to national audit and helps us shape our services and monitor the effectiveness of the care we provide to our patients.
Main duties of the job
Our staff oversee around 6,500 patient contacts every day, delivering high standards of healthcare from the following sites:

Main duties of the job
- Submit data to national audit
- Work closely with clinical teams
- Produce reports to governance forums
- To monitor data quality and validation, liaising with unit leads regarding issues
- Liaise with system users to ensure rationalisation of data collection and elimination of duplication
- To troubleshoot issues with the database / data submissions
- To provide support to Staff regarding critical care data collection and its application
- To produce routine monthly and ad hoc analytical reports from various data sources in support of the service & the directorate
- Reports/ Data are used for the following:
- Activity Dashboard
- Annual Report
- Payment by Results
- Ad hoc reports
- Network transfers, outreach activity
- Outside agencies- PHE NHSE
- Pressure Ulcer surveillance
- Unit acquired infections

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- To collect, collate and organise the input of data and produce standard, ad hoc analytical and annual reports relating to Perioperative directorate activity
- To maintain quality & validation of data used
- The role includes the support of the Ward Watcher system, ICNARC CMP, CCMDS, CQUIN programmes, QIP programmes, Capacity & resource data, National dashboards, managing the flow of data relating to Adult Critical Care within the Trust and to external agencies
- The post holder will support other projects and contribute to work streams relating to governance, quality and safety as delegated

Qualifications & Education
Essential criteria
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
- European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
- Microsoft Office Specialist certification

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and good knowledge of using MS Excel
- Sound working knowledge of computer based and other types of information systems, data collection, validation, reporting and presentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Previous working experience of using relational databases
