Job Overview
We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Information Governance Officer to join the Information Governance Team based within the Digital and Technology Services.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will work as a member of the Information Governance Team supporting the delivery of Information Governance and Data Protection across the Trust. The Information Governance Officer will provide routine and ad hoc administrative support to support the business needs of the Trust in relation to Information Governance and Data Protection.
The candidate must possess a knowledge of a range of IM&T and Information Governance. Experience in the NHS is preferable. The candidate must demonstrate excellent communications skills, both written and verbal and hold a good working knowledge of IT packages including excel.
We require a conscientious candidate with the ability to work under pressure and to specific deadlines who has the ability to communicate complex, sensitive or contentious information using different communication methods.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
- To work as a team member supporting the Information Governance Team in development and delivering all aspects of Information Governance, Data Protection, Confidentiality, Caldicott Principles, Information Security, Information Risk Management, and corporate governance.
- To provide a routine and ad hoc administrative information service to support the business and clinical needs of the Trust in relation to the Information Governance Team
- Support the Information Governance Team in providing user guidance and advice on the implementation of Trust policies and procedures.
- Support all aspects of the Caldicott registration and approval processes for the Trust, including responding to queries in relation to Caldicott applications.
- Maintain data and records in relation to the management and monitoring of Information Governance assurance areas of focus.
- Support the Information Governance Team in the management of incidents.

- Possess knowledge of Information Governance and Data Protection acquired through qualification to degree or equivalent level of relevant experience
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent knowledge/experience

- Possess a sound working knowledge of Information governance and Data Protection relating to information systems, data collection, validation, reporting and presentation, either within the NHS or an equivalent organisation
- Experience of the NHS preferably within Information Governance or Data Protection
- Be computer literate and a have a good working knowledge of Microsoft applications.
- Possess previous working experience of using databases and word processing
- Possess experience of using spreadsheets or equivalent tools for to a high level.
- Knowledge of Allocate Health Roster System.

- Proficient skills in a range of relevant software packages including Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent and effective communication skills both written and verbal, including the dissemination and receiving of complex/sensitive information in a professional manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels
- Possess a comprehensive range of practical analytical administrative skills
- When required be able to arrange and carry out training on use of information processes and information security both within and external to the Information Governance Team.
- The ability to explain the application of complicated and sensitive (e.g. DPA, FOI and other appropriate legislation) information issues to non-information personnel.
