The job is advertised as 4PAs but we would be happy to discuss other less than full time options
In this locum post, you will be expected to contribute to the general out-patient neurology service at the RVI.
Main duties of the job
This post is a six-month, less than full time locum post (shorter terms can be discussed if desirable) based at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in the regional neurosciences centre. You will provide a general neurology outpatient service. The starting date of the period needing covered is April 2025. Clinical work will be focused on general neurology and 1st seizure clinics.
The appointee will be expected to participate in the weekly academic meetings and will have the chance to contribute to the departmental teaching programme for the undergraduate medical students from Newcastle University and to contribute to the postgraduate training.

Essential criteria
- Primary Medical Qualification.
- Full GMC Registration.
- Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register (within 6 months from the date of the AAC).
- MD, PhD or equivalent,
Essential criteria
- Training and experience in all aspects of Neurology
- Ability to offer an expert clinical opinion for general neurology.
- Ability to take independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients referred to a tertiary centre.
- Post -CST experience as consultant

- Involvement with management and project leadership within the specialty.
- Evidence of involvement in authoring or reviewing clinical guidelines.
- An understanding of Clinical Governance.
- Proven management and administrative experience and understanding of management goals.
