About Us – Risk Management
Our Risk Management department serves the entire Freeman Health System from our stand-alone building on the West Campus. We take a proactive and systematic approach to identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks across the organization, ensuring a safe and effective environment for both patients and staff. Our responsibilities include managing claims and litigation, responding to emergent patient issues, analyzing root causes, continuous improvement, and providing education to staff, employees, and patients.

We maintain an internal and confidential incident reporting system to track and analyze adverse events, identify root causes, and implement actions and education to prevent recurrence. Collaboration is key to our success, and we work closely with patients, staff, leadership, legal counsel, and insurance carriers to achieve our goals.
What You’ll Do
- Responsible for collection, analysis, distribution and management of event data reported from internal incident reporting system, SAFE Report.
- Responsible for reporting to event and trend data to assigned committees. Provides support for the Patient Safety projects and activities.
- Assists with management of risk and legal cases and investigation of patient complaints and grievances.
- Responsible for timely entering of complaints and grievances Facilitates the Root Cause Analysis process for review of significant events and conducts Fall reviews when significant injury occurs.
Requirements
- Current Missouri Registered Nurse, LPN, Respiratory Care Practitioner, or Physical Therapy License. If RN/LPN and license is a compact status, it must be in the RN/LPN's state of residence.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous years experience in risk management.
