Job Summary
This senior position will be responsible for providing technical knowledge of the day-to-day operations and maintenance activities of a 3Train 13. 2 MTPA APCI Liquefaction and Marine terminal. The main focus will be on optimization of the entire value chain from natural gas delivery or export to LNG import or export. This position will require utilizing engineering documents, collected field data and communications, Key Performance Indicators, production schedules, energy usage, ship scheduling, etc. to monitor the terminal performance. The individual will be highly involved in “hands-on” activities and develop a close working relationship with operations and maintenance personnel.
Location/Travel Information
This position is based at the Quintana LQF Terminal with frequent travel to off-site locations as required. This position requires the incumbent to hold a valid, unexpired driver's license at all times in order to perform the essential functions of the job.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Monitors the day to day operations and optimization efforts of the Liquefaction and Marine processes.
- Identify problems, troubleshoot, and produce documents and justifications for plant-wide improvements in process, maintenance, and operations leading to a more efficient and productive facility.
- Provide daily guidance to the operations team in the safe, reliable and efficient methods of operations within the LQF Terminal
- Mentor and coach staff and provide a positive role model in key operation areas, following best industry practices such as zero recordable injuries and zero environmental violations.
- Conduct panel walk-downs with the operations team to discuss any operational concerns.
- Implement the operation standards through detailed procedures and defined workflow processes
- As a member of the Production Leadership Team, contribute positively and assist in the development of an organization that embraces a commitment to safety and environmental best practices, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
- Ensure operational safety through participation in safety meetings and in the field with the workforce.
- Work closely with Superintendents, Shift Supervisors, Engineering as well as the Operation and Maintenance planners to ensure global communication.
- Work in close coordination with Gas Schedulers in relation to daily input/output including monthly forecast. Has a good understanding of contractual provisions for each upstream gas provider.
- Work closely with operations to ensure nominated daily gas volumes and production goals and reporting protocols are met.
- Interface daily with Technical Staff
- Develop and deliver daily operation directives in coordination with the Operation and Maintenance Superintendents
- Responsible and has a key role in developing and implementing operational and maintenance activities during planned outages.
- Maintain high-quality working relationships with both operations, engineering, and maintenance departments
- Act as backup for Operations Superintendent during scheduled/unscheduled absences.
- Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary by facility management.
- Track and support closure of process incident reports involving process trips and upsets of all facilities
- Demonstrate performance toward operational excellence
Education, Certification, and Experience
Minimum Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience Required: 5 years’ of direct work/high-level functional knowledge and experience in Large Scale Liquefaction or Petro-Chemical Facility
Preferred Education: Associate degree in Chemical/Process Technology
Preferred Experience: 10 years’ of direct work/high-level functional knowledge and experience in Large Scale Liquefaction Facility
