The operation involves supervising, coordinating, and controlling the safe and efficient operation of an assigned work unit. Key responsibilities include:
- Assigning, supervising, and reviewing the work of staff for assigned work units.
- Implementing production plans according to approved schedules.
- Participating in daily operational duties, performing complex tasks when needed.
- Inspecting and evaluating work in progress, identifying problem areas, and directing corrective action.
- Conducting performance evaluations on subordinate staff.
- Preparing estimates for staffing, materials, and equipment requirements for projected activities.
- Maintaining inventory records, approving material purchases, and maintaining time, material, and equipment use reports.
- Requisitioning tools, supplies, materials, and equipment.
- Training staff in safety procedures and maintaining safety data sheets for crews.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of related experience, including supervisory or lead roles.
- A bachelor's degree in a technical mining discipline with one summer internship experience (or equivalent) in mining or industry, including supervisory or lead roles.
