Description

Employees will participate in a 3 year program that includes a combination of formal classroom courses and on-the-job training designed to develop selected candidates into highly skilled and professional trade employees. Responsible for learning and performing minor maintenance / operations activities independently, with minimal supervision, or support journeymen in their maintenance activities.

Attend required classroom training sessions.
Perform on-the-job training activities in appropriate discipline.
Perform safe operation of maintenance mobile equipment.
Perform work area and equipment safety inspections.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

High School diploma or GED

Must be 18 years of age or older

Must pass the math qualifying test

Must have completed academic and practical competencies required (this includes Line of Progression requirements for internal employees where LOP Exists) and have experience demonstrating the required aptitude. The selected candidate shall demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge and skills while also passing a written assessment where required. This exam is based on skills / abilities and / or academic knowledge; as well as safety.

Criteria / Conditions :

Work is performed in a mine or manufacturing plant which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see.

Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy to heavy objects (up to 50 pounds) during the course of the workday.

Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required.

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently  $18.00 - $25.00 / hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. What We Require

Candidates may be required to pass a medical exam.

Candidates must pass all required training and / or testing.

Employees may be required to work a non-standard schedule, which may include shift work (other than day shift) at a 24 / 7, -day operation.
