Job Summary
Hours of position: Varies
This position offers an optional $2500.00 award for a 2 year commitment to FHN to external candidates.
Responsibilities include completion of radiographic or CT procedures in a caring, safe and efficient manner while following radiologist's protocols, Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety regulatory guidelines, and FHN policies and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs equipment warm up and calibrations.
- Verifies orders and documents clinical information.
- Assesses patient condition, explains procedure and obtains consent.
- Consults radiologist or ordering physician as needed.
- Provides patient history and condition data to the interpreting physician.
- Prepares and injects intravenous contrast media.
- Performs radiographic and CT procedures.
- Prepares procedure room, supplies and cleans room.
- Transports patients.
- Completes exam and charges supplies.
- Verifies exams are stored to PACS system with appropriate demographic data.
- Reports any discrepancies in study data to appropriate person.
- Displays competency for age specific patients; newborn through geriatrics.
- Displays competency for the Multi-skilled Imaging Tech - CT role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- May be required to share on-call rotation for "after hours" CT procedures. This position requires close observation of equipment and patients, and the ability to recognize change in condition and to respond quickly. Must be able to work a flexible work schedule to accommodate unscheduled procedures. Excellent interpersonal skills, and teamwork orientation to move easily from one assignment to another are required.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: Associate's degree (A.S. or A.A.S.) from a two-year college program or diploma from a two-year hospital based program with a specialty in Radiologic Technology; six to twelve months related experience and three months experience and /or training in CT.
Required Experience: Specialized courses or training in CT Scanning.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: ARRT in Radiologic Technology, CT Technology and IEMA accreditation. BLS
