Job Summary
Perform Mammography and Radiography examinations and related patient care duties while adhering to the guidelines of the ARRT professional code of conduct and the regulations of IEMA department of nuclear safety.
Job Responsibilities
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Participates in routine QC activities related to Mammography.
- Performs exams in Mammography and Radiography in accordance with age and other individual needs of a specific patient.
- Completes pertinent documentation on forms, patient charts and in computer systems.
- Transports patients.
- Performs exams within the allotted time scheduled.
- Answers telephones, assists in scheduling patients and gives reports to referring physicians.
- Maintains the integrity of the patient record by using work list to identify patient studies, obtaining prior studies from the file area and printing reports.
- Processes Images and confirms storage to PACS.
- Cleans equipment and maintains supplies in rooms.
- Provides patients with breast health education and documents.
- Actively displays characteristics of the FHN PRIDE Standards and the Commitment to Respect, Dignity and Compassion.
- Completes annual competencies for Mammography and Radiography.
- Maintains licensure by the State of Illinois department of nuclear safety. Maintains registration by the ARRT in Radiology and
- Mammography.
- Maintains required continuing education in Mammography required for Institution MQSA standards.
- Abide by policies and procedures of department and institution.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education:
- Associate's degree (A.S. or A.A.S.) from a two-year college program or diploma from a two-year hospital based program, with a specialty in radiologic technology; and a minimum of twelve months related experience
- Minimum of 40 hours mammography education plus 8 hours of digital mammography education.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- ARRT registration in Radiologic Technology and Mammography.
- IEMA licensure in Radiography.
- BLS certification required.
