Job Summary
Organizes and facilitates department activities to deliver quality care following evidence-based standards of care. Priorities include quality and service excellence, which focuses on patient, staff and physician satisfaction. Leads and supervises staff to ensure workforce standards are demonstrated in the delivery of patient care. Serves as a link to all disciplines for patient care to assure desired outcomes, meditates, and problem-solves concerns related to patient, staff and physicians.
This position's main focus will be on operational items including time and attendance monitoring, staff performance evaluations, data collection and reporting, quality management, controlling expenses as it relates to budget and scheduling, patient satisfaction, staff performance management and other duties as assigned. Will ensure compliance of policies, procedures, patient care standards and regulatory guidelines. May assist/back-up other department team leaders in the delivery of patient care, assigning patients, staff supervision and problem-solving/mediation as necessary. Will perform these duties for all nursing units for which the director is accountable.

Quality of care monitoring data collection and reporting.
Monitors and communicates patient satisfaction results. While overseeing the implementation of determined action plan and follow up results.
Provides direction, guidance and supervision of personnel while supporting a culture of high performing staff.
Address patient, provider and staff concerns/grievances, while considering process improvement initiatives. Consults with director as needed.
Focus your verbal communications on patient/customer care, business operations, and/or topics which will create a positive work environment.
Responsible for staffing and scheduling staff. Assignments reflect appropriate utilization of personnel, considering scope of practice, competencies, patient/client needs and complexity of care. Plans and assesses staffing needs to accommodate patient volumes while utilizing wise stewardship of resources (i.e., staff scheduling) Completes performance appraisals and onboarding process on or before the due date.
Conducts interviews and determines the hiring of staff, consulting director as needed.
Oversees the ordering, receipt and approval of supplies, while monitoring expenditures and conserving resources in an effort not to exceed dollar amount determined by director.
Serves as a link to all disciplines.
Actively participates on teams and committees throughout FHN as appropriate.
Demonstrates competency for the Operations Leader role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN Leadership Standards.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree Required (B.A. or B.S.)
Must have achieved minimum of RN Level 2 in the PNPP program
Excellent Organization and Time Management Skills

Leadership training/experience
Customer Service/Process Implementation
Flexibility in work schedule
Required Experience: Two to five years prior field related or other job-related experience. Previous Charge Nurse or Team Leader experience preferred.
Licensure/Certification/Registration: Registered Nurse currently licensed to practice in the state of Illinois. Certification of nationally recognized nursing organization preferred. CPR certified.
