Job Summary
Works collaboratively and proactively with other members of the healthcare team to coordinate and facilitate patient care. The job incumbent is a multi-skilled staff member who is able to perform clerical and clinical duties as directed by the provider, leader, and/or RN/CMA. The job profile encompasses a multitude of tasks that contribute to the efficient operations of the healthcare practice.
Job Responsibilities
- Displays competency for the Patient Care Technician role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
- Demonstrates clinical competency in providing age specific care to patients in designated areas of practice.
- Schedules testing for patients (labs, referrals, appointments), providing appropriate patient education as delegated, ensuring completion of appropriate paperwork including but not limited to waivers, pre certifications and referrals as applicable.
- Responds to customer requests/concerns, depending on the questions.
- Thoroughly rooms a patient & collects focused data including vital signs, pain rating, pertinent history, reason for visit, and other information as identified by the specialty or patient needs utilizing approved abbreviations.
- Ordering & restocking of supplies in rooms.
- Assists provider with exams, minor procedures or treatments obtaining appropriate consent(s) as needed
- Assist patients to and from cars (those that need help).
- Provides back up support for Patient Service Representative (PSR) according to the PSR job description.
- Performs any and/or all duties within scope of practice.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Required Experience: 0 – 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- BLS and CNA certifications required
