Job Summary
Provides support to the Pharmacist to meet our patients/customer need.
Job Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
Assist Pharmacist in medication dispensing processing.
Performs Pyxis medication replacements per department procedures.
Communicates effectively with members of the health care team.
Exhibits a commitment to exemplary customer service.
Checks in, stocks and restocks inventory and supplies.
Assists in selective training of other technicians, as requested.
Maintains a high degree of confidentiality of patient information.
Performs unit’s inspections, crash cart checks, Pyxis checks, and outdated medication checks per department policy and procedures.
Accurately enters medication charges and credits.
Performs I.V. and TPN admixing per department procedures.
Performs Infection Control tasks and Public Health checks per department procedures.
Displays pharmacy calculations (math) competency related to medication preparation/admixing especially for pediatric and geriatric patients.
Assist with department clerical functions, as requested.
Displays competency for Sterile Products Compounding. (Per regulatory and accredited standards)
Displays competency for the Pharmacy Technician role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or currently enrolled in High School.
Must be licensure eligible in the state of Illinois. Computer experience is required.
