Job Summary
Performs diagnostic sleep studies, CPAP titrations, MSLT on inpatients and outpatients; prepare medical records for interpretation, storage, and QA reviews; hand score NPSG and 7channel sleep apnea studies and MSLT; archive studies to optical disk.
Job Responsibilities
Other duties may be assigned.
Performs diagnostic sleep studies, CPAP titrations and MSLT.
Provides patient education.
Report generation and archival functions.
Hand scoring of sleep apnea and MSLT studies; 7channel sleep apnea studies.
Communication of patient information.
Provides back-up for Respiratory Care Department.
Maintains Sleep Lab (supplies, equipment, maintenance, etc.).
Displays competency for age specific patients; newborn through geriatrics.
Displays competency for the Sleep Lab Technician role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
Delivers respiratory care to identified patients in designated areas of practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: CRTT or RRT, graduate from an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
Required Experience:
Basic EKG and EEG interpretation. Manual dexterity and mobility to function effectively in performing job duties. Good clinical background, medical terminology, and general knowledge of cardiac and pulmonary physiology. Computer experience and excellent communication skills. |
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
RRT, (NBRC) or eligible, CPR Certification required. CRTT (NBRC) or eligible. OSHA Class I required. ACLS within one year of hire. |
