Job Summary
Coordinates respiratory care to identified patients in designated areas of practice. Utilizes delegation, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Job Responsibilities
- Participates in the communication network with appropriate members of the health care team.
- Routinely demonstrates leadership capabilities through performance via team leading, prioritizing, delegating and the use of critical thinking.
- Assumes professional responsibility and accountability for outcomes of respiratory care.
- Demonstrates the ability to integrate respiratory therapy theory into practice.
- Demonstrates clinical competency in providing age specific (neonatal – geriatric) respiratory care to patients in designated areas of practice.
- Displays competency for the Registered Respiratory Therapist role as evidenced in the annual performance appraisal following the FHN PRIDE Standards.
- Delivers respiratory care to identified patients in designated areas of practice to achieve optimal patient outcomes with minimal supervision.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
Requirements
Education: Associate’s Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited school of Respiratory Care
Required Experience: 2 – 5 years of experience preferred. Experience with Bronchoscopy, PFT Lab and Therapist Driven Protocols a plus.
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (NBRC)
- BLS
- ACLS within one year of hire
