Our Freeport Terminal (FTI) is a full-service intermodal facility featuring barge, rail, and truck offload and reload capabilities located in Freeport, Pennsylvania on the Allegheny River. This all-product facility offers specialization in both liquid and dry bulk handling, storage, and processing. FTI sits on 35-acres with significant bulk commodity storage as well as under-roof warehousing. We also have eight million gallons in liquid bulk storage available for truck to tank, to barge transfers and vice versa.
Job Description
Freeport Terminals, Inc. (FTI) is seeking a full time Assistant Superintendent to train under the current Superintendent. This job will involve learning how to manage FTI, and eventually taking over the day-to-day responsibilities. The applicant must have some management experience and transloading knowledge. The applicant must have the ability to manage and hold all employees accountable, follow/enforce all safety guidelines, handle all necessary paperwork, and have the communication skills necessary to work with customers, truck drivers and other employees. The applicant will be required to collaborate with NEI’s sales and operations team to help drive sales and provide the highest level of customer satisfaction. This position also requires obtaining a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card. The application requires two forms of government approved ID and a completed background check. Maintaining the card will require passing random drug testing. Work will be outside year-round, and we require punctual employees. Candidates must have a strong work ethic and a willingness to help with whatever tasks are required, while also holding the crew accountable.
Job Requirements and Qualifications
· This is a long-term, full-time position
· Monday-Friday and weekends as required
· Able to effectively manage 10 employees
· Knowledge of weights and measures
· Capable of:
o Lifting 50 lbs.
o Being on your feet and mobile for an extended period
o Bending over
o Climbing stairs to the top of storage tanks (suggest not having a fear of heights)
· Must be able to pass a background check / drug test and remain drug free
· Ability to obtain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card, requiring two forms of government approved ID
· Must be able to work in rigorous outdoor elements year round
· Perform all work considering Company standards and following all safety and security procedures
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment
· Ensure customer satisfaction and operational excellence
· Willingness to help with whatever tasks are required
· Must be able to work independently and with other team members
Experience in any of the following areas desirable
· Loading and offloading liquid and dry bulk products to and from tanker trucks, barges, and storage tanks
· Experience running heavy machinery
o Front loaders
o Cable crane
o Forklifts
o Trucks
o Tugboat
· Perform and / or manage maintenance on all machinery and facilities
· Mechanical aptitude
· Trade knowledge / experience
