We are seeking a passionate paraprofessional, who enjoys teaching in a student centered, inquiry based learning environment. FLMS educators work with teachers, students and families to develop a community model of communication and expectations that focus on balance and the whole student. Students are encouraged to be active participants in their learning by leveraging blended learning and advocating for themselves, as they become comfortable and confident in all learning platforms and modalities, guided by clear learning objectives and goals that are driven by data.
Position Objective:
This position is accountable for assuming the responsibility of providing support to the instructional program with specific responsibility for assisting in the supervision, care, and instruction of students in the general education setting. A thriving paraprofessional is collaborative, caring, compassionate, and committed to each student's success.
Responsibilities:
1. Adapts classroom activities, assignments and/or materials under the direction of the supervising teacher for the purpose of supporting and reinforcing classroom objectives.
2. Administers classroom assessments and work while collecting data for the purpose of supporting teachers in the classroom.
3. Assists and escorts students when necessary for the purpose of attending to the student's care needs and arrival to/from destinations.
4. Attends meetings and inservice presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
5. Communicates with supervising instructional staff, and a variety of health care professionals, and professional support personnel for the purpose of communicating progress.
6. Implements under the supervision of assigned teacher, research based interventions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
7. Maintains instructional materials and/or manual and electronic files/records for the purpose of ensuring availability of items; providing written reference; and/or meeting mandated requirements.
8. Monitors student's daily schedule for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.
10. Provides, under the supervision of the designee, instruction to students in a variety of individual and group activities for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives to ensure student's success in school.
11. Supervises individual and/or groups of students in a variety of settings for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.

13. Performance of other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Minimum High School Diploma
2. Relevant school-based experience preferred
3. Must pass a CORI and fingerprinting

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in working with middle aged students in a school setting to meet their academic and social/emotional needs.
Salary & Terms of Employment:
In accordance with the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District Educators’ Association contract. Employment is contingent upon job performance, program needs, and funding.
