The Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District comprises five schools located in the two towns of Lakeville and Freetown. The schools are regionalized and are governed by the school committee. This district is under the supervision of the Central Administration headed up by the Superintendent of Schools. The Central Administration provides support to all five schools for shared services including transportation, human resources, technology, food services, curriculum and instruction, and student services. You are able to access it through our website at freelake.org The Position On behalf of the communities it serves, the School Committee Leadership of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District is searching for an Interim Superintendent who will work in partnership with district and school leaders, faculty, staff, students, parents, community members, and the multiple School Committees to lead the District for the future. The selected candidate will champion the District’s vision that every child matters and ensure that the opportunities for deep learning articulated through the Freetown-Lakeville’s Strategic Plan will be evident in every classroom of the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District. The successful candidate for the position will be expected to: ● Develop a deep understanding of the advantages and challenges of life as the factors of socio economics, climate, and the pandemic intersect. ● Lead the District forward from the impact of the pandemic on student learning and the well-being of students, teachers, and staff, parents and so many members of our community. ● Shepherd the evolution of rigorous curriculum, instruction and assessment practices that provide powerful and increasingly complex 21st century learning experiences for all students and their teachers. ● With the daily and strategic support of the district leadership team, school leaders and teachers, develop, as specified in the Freetown-Lakeville Regional School District’s Strategic Plan, is committed to providing each student with a high quality, relevant education that promotes academic success, well-being, and responsible citizens. ● Demonstrate prudent fiscal management and the ingenuity required to increase revenue sources in a time of increasing needs and enrollment fluctuations. Qualifications · Massachusetts DESE Superintendent licensure or license eligible · Experience as a Superintendent of Schools and/or relevant experience as Central Office/District Administrator, regional experience preferred The Application Process Applicants should include a letter of interest, résumé, 3 current references, and appropriate MA DESE licensure to Freetown-Lakeville Regional School Committee Chair, John Burke at 98 Howland Rd, Lakeville, Ma 02347. The School Committee offers a competitive contract and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Materials may also be submitted via www.schoolspring.com.
