Program Overview

This program immerses students into the daily operation of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. The student becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units.

Organization & Team Overview

The Ad Serving system is the backbone of Beeswax's demand side platform (DSP) advertising business. It listens to billions of ad auctions per day, decides which of our hundreds of customers should participate, and executes complex bidding strategies to provide optimal results -- in milliseconds.

Role Description

As a Comcast Software Engineer Intern in the Beeswax Serving team, you will utilize your technical and business skills to help advertisers find their intended audiences cost-effectively, around the clock, and around the world.

What are some interesting problems the student will work on?

In your role, you will develop new logical, operational, and analytical capabilities for a state-of-the art, global bidding platform. Previous interns have performed algorithmic research and developed diagnostic tools to trace auctions end-to-end throughout our on-cloud stack.

Where can this student make an impact?

You’ll be working with a highly motivated set of engineers, passionate about software development and application performance. Should you join us for the summer, you will help us in our goals to bid on new and diverse segments of ad inventory, cut compute infrastructure costs, and provide transparency to our customers.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, implement, test, deploy, and document new software features.
  • Measure performance of distributed systems.
  • Regular, consistent, and punctual attendance.
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s), and overtime as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications And Eligibility Requirements

  • This job posting is only open to members of the T. Howard Foundation's Internship Program. Only students from the organization will be considered.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university
  • Rising Junior or Rising Senior only (must have a graduation date between Winter 2025 - Spring 2027)
  • Returning to degree-program (for at least a semester) after the completion of the summer internship (meaning, student must be returning to school for Fall 2025 semester before graduating)
  • Available to work 40 hours per week over the course of the summer program- June 2 through August 15, 2025
  • Authorized to work in the United States with no current or future sponsorship needs
  • Available to report in-person to the work location on the job posting (unless virtual offering)
