We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Final Mile Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently delivering packages to customers within a designated area. Key Responsibilities:
- Delivery Operations: Safely and efficiently transport packages to customers within assigned routes, ensuring timely delivery.
- Customer Interaction: Provide excellent customer service, including professional communication and resolving minor delivery issues.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining a clean and safe delivery vehicle.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery logs, including any issues encountered during deliveries (e.g., missed deliveries, delays).
- Route Optimization: Use GPS and delivery software to follow the most efficient routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Problem Solving: Handle issues such as incorrect addresses, delivery reschedules, or customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Physical Demands: Lift, carry, and unload packages of varying sizes and weights ensuring safe handling of all items.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety guidelines, including proper vehicle operation and secure handling of packages, to ensure a safe work environment.
Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role (Final Mile experience preferred).
- Ability to lift and carry packages of varying sizes.
- Strong communication skills and a positive attitude when interacting with customers.
- Ability to navigate using GPS and other route-planning tools.
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug test.
- Arrive on site at given start time.
- Drive locally to make residential stops.
- Coordinate and communicate with dispatch staff to ensure on-time delivery.
- Assemble, hook-up, install, and set up items in-home.
- Take pictures to certify delivery via POD entry at delivery location.
- Return to customer site to return any undelivered items each day.
- Maintain clean and organized tools and blankets inside box truck.
- Familiar with 26ft box truck.
- Valid DOT Medical Card
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in final mile delivery or courier services.
- Familiarity with delivery software and mobile apps.
- Knowledge of the local area and roads.
- 2 years’ experience driving 26-foot box trucks.
- Willing to wear uniform.
- Safety-minded, willing to go the extra mile for safety.
