About the team
For this 21st Century Program Coordinator position, you'll be working forour high school in Wilmington, Delaware called Freire Charter School Wilmington (8th-12th Grade): Freire is all about Graduation x 2 – graduation from high school and from college. We challenge our students to achieve higher than they ever have before, and we give them the support they need to get there, including individualized college counseling. The Class of 2024 received acceptances into 81 unique colleges and universities and earned nearly $7M in scholarship award offers. What you'll do
Reporting to the Director of Operations, you'll ensure that the 21st Century CLC program meets student needs, provides a variety of academic and non-academic focused on the program's goals.
Responsibilities
- Actively recruit and enroll students to participate in the CLC program
- Plan and coordinate the Lights on Afterschool Event (held in October)
- Develop and oversee a diverse range of student clubs and after-school activities including, but not limited to, Academic Centers, Cosmetology, Delaware Contemporary Art, FLYOGI, LGBTQ Student Union, Music Production, National Honor Society, and Student Government Association
- Supervise and manage all after-school staff members, providing guidance and support as needed
- Work closely with Freire Schools' CFO and Freire administration to manage and approve all expenditures related to the 21st CLC program and maintain a sustainable budget.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with external agencies, organizations, and service providers to enhance the program offerings

Minimum requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in education, social work, youth development, or a related field.
- Experience in program coordination and managing out-of-school-time (OST) or afterschool programs.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate with school staff, community partners, and families.
- Knowledge of grant compliance and reporting requirements for 21st CCLC programs.
- Ability to develop and implement academic and enrichment activities that align with student needs and program goals.
Pay and benefits
This is a 12-month position. The program coordinator will only be eligible for additional paid hours for special events outside of regular program hours as approved by the Director of Academic Operations. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications.
