For this Administrative Assistant/Front Desk Greeter position, you’ll be working for our high school in center city Philadelphia called Freire Charter High School (9th-12th Grade): One of the first charter schools to open in Pennsylvania, Freire High School was founded in 1999 as the flagship Freire Schools campus. 100% of the Freire High School Class of 2024 were accepted to college and earned almost $8 million in scholarships and financial aid offers for college. Freire High School’s rigorous, creative curriculum and comprehensive academic and emotional supports help our students thrive in high school, in college, and beyond.

What you’ll do
As the Administrative Assistant and Front Desk Greeter, you'll play a critical role in maintaining smooth front desk operations in the school’s office, supporting the administrative team, staff, students, and parents. You'll be responsible for a wide range of clerical and administrative tasks to ensure the efficient day-to-day functioning of Freire Charter High School.

Minimum Requirements
This is a full time, salaried position that runs for 12 months of the year. We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire’s 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.

What you’ll do
As the Administrative Assistant and Front Desk Greeter, you'll play a critical role in maintaining smooth front desk operations in the school’s office, supporting the administrative team, staff, students, and parents. Responsibilities
- Manage daily attendance needs
- Front desk management and phone coverage
- Lead various academic support tasks, including lockers, student identification photos, technology reservations, Yondr pouches etc.
- Assist with Chromebook support
- Money collection for Chromebooks, Yondr pouches, etc.
- Support the Head of Operations and Head of School with various tasks
- Manage Copier, inventory, and maintenance support
- Supply inventory including books, office supplies, water bottles, tissues, etc.

- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to complete projects in a timely manner and adhere to numerous deadlines
- Demonstrates flexibility and maintains confidentiality
- Sets priorities and works in a highly organized and efficient manner
- Professional, personable and welcoming to all constituencies
- Willingness to perform various tasks as needed in support of the extended Freire community
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word and Excel
- At least 1-2 years of experience with urban youth and families
