About the team

For this school nurse position, you'll be working for one of our two high schools in Philadelphia. Philadelphia Magazine recently named Freire Charter High School (#18) and TECH Freire Charter High School (#26) among the top high schools in Philadelphia. While we're proud of our accomplishments, we're not bound by tradition—if something isn't working, we are permissionless in fixing it. What you'll do

As a high school nurse, you'll provide compassionate and comprehensive healthcare services, including first aid, health education, and confidential counseling to promote the well-being of students and staff. Your role involves collaborating with educators, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to students and communicate effectively with parents as needed.
• Maintain all student health files and a daily log of all student visits to the nurse's office
• Schedule student screenings in accordance with state and federal health regulations
• Properly store and administer medication to students as requested by parents or physicians according to the medication guidelines
• Perform other school health related duties as assigned

We offer a competitive salary based on your experience and qualifications. Our benefits package includes health, dental, vision, and more. Pennsylvania employees are enrolled in Freire's 403(b) retirement plan which includes a 5% contribution from Freire.
