Director, Technical Project Management

ResponsibilitiesA Director of Estimating will review and analyze project designs, evaluate constructability concerns, and prepare budgets, estimates, and solicit / evaluate quotes from suppliers / subcontractors for construction projects. The successful candidate will develop a plan / schedule for the estimating department to ensure that deadlines of various pursuits are met. In addition, the ability to perform accurate quantity take-offs and develop a complete estimate while identifying risks to the overall success of the project and methods to mitigate them is imperative. A background with mechanical piping and plumbing is a must to accurately develop complete estimates.Essential FunctionsPerform accurate and thorough quantity take-offs of piping and plumbing systems as well as equipment in an organized format for ease of comprehension by the operations staff Have you got what it takes to succeed The following information should be read carefully by all candidates. Use available historical data to prepare estimates for self-performed while using current software in accordance with company standards Conduct site visits as necessary, review design documents and identify value engineering opportunities, and facilitate the subcontractor and supplier bid process and maximize coverage for all scopes Assume a proactive role in the bidding and negotiations for the project and effectively communicate and collaborate with Company personnel, vendors, and clients Identify and evaluate the potential risk factors of any work and develop steps to mitigate them and have the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Develop project schedules and sequences for work and have knowledge of various means, methods, equipment, and labor required to complete work and participate in transfer of project to operations staff to ensure successful handover Remain informed of changes and trends in construction costs, methods, materials, equipment, technology, wage rates, and working rules while pursuing training and education to increase your effectiveness as an estimator Represent Company at all times with professionalism and a commitment to quality Other duties as assigned by Company Management
