Position Summary:
The Fremont County Association of Governments (FCAG) is seeking dedicated and professional Bus Drivers to join the Wind River Transportation Authority (WRTA) team. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential transportation services to the community, ensuring safe, timely, and reliable transit for the general public and individuals with disabilities. Key Responsibilities:
Passenger Transportation (65%)
- Safely and efficiently operate assigned buses along designated routes or schedules.
- Transport passengers, including individuals with disabilities, ensuring safe boarding, transit, and deboarding.
- Assist passengers with mobility devices and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
Customer Service (15%)
- Provide courteous, respectful, and helpful service to all passengers.
- Address questions, concerns, and provide route information in a professional manner.
- Manage minor passenger issues while maintaining a positive attitude.
Fare Collection (10%)
- Collect fares, issue receipts, and ensure accurate payment according to fare schedules.
- Secure fares according to WRTA guidelines and report discrepancies promptly.
Safety Compliance and Vehicle Inspections (10%)
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and reliability.
- Comply with safety protocols, including securement of mobility devices and seatbelt usage.
- Report maintenance needs or mechanical issues promptly.
Route and Schedule Adherence (5%)
- Follow assigned routes and schedules to ensure timely transportation.
- Adapt to route changes, road closures, or adverse weather conditions with clear communication to dispatch.
Other responsibilities may be required as directed by management to support the efficient operation of the organization.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger Endorsement, or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire. We provide paid CDL training for those without a current CDL.
- Experience: Experience driving buses or large vehicles preferred; equivalent customer service experience is also beneficial.
- Customer Service Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to provide positive passenger experiences.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to follow schedules, safety protocols, and organizational procedures diligently.
- Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication for dispatch coordination and passenger interactions.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged sitting while operating a vehicle.
- Intermittent stops to assist passengers with boarding and deboarding.
- Lifting and assisting passengers with mobility devices as needed.
- Conducting pre-trip inspections and providing outside assistance in various weather conditions.
