Job Summary
Fremont County School District #21 is seeking a detail-oriented and organized accounting clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role is essential for the smooth operation of our financial processes and requires proficiency in various accounting software.
Responsibilities for Accounting Clerk
- Address and resolve employee complaints relating to the payroll
- Maintain personnel database
- Work with company accounting programs to process a bi-weekly payroll for 150 employees
- Reconcile payroll liability accounts
- Reconcile payroll benefits with invoices
- Process state and federal required payroll reports
- Keep organized and detailed payroll records
- Monitor and record debits and credits to maintain accurate account balances.
- Weekly bank deposits
- Assist with yearly state reporting
- Assist with yearly audits
- Any other jobs as assigned
Requirements for Accounting Clerk
- Proven experience in accounting and payroll in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial software
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, as well as Google Doc products
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, including debits and credits
- Extensive knowledge of tax and wage laws.
- Understanding of the common fiscal procedures and governmental accounting
- Good communication skills for collaboration with team members across departments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
- Exceptional multitasking and organizational skills.
- Able to work effectively with minimal supervision
- Physically able to work seated in front of a computer for long hours at a time
- A degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred, but equivalent experience in accounting will be excepted.
Salary: dependent on experience and degree.
