REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Educational Leadership
- Wyoming PTSB Principal Certification at the appropriate grade level
- Three or more years experience as a certified teacher
POSITION SUMMARY
The building principal uses leadership, supervisory, and administrative skills to promote the educational development of each student.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Establishes and maintains an effective learning climate in the school.
- Plans, organizes, and directs implementation of all school activities.
- Keeps the Superintendent informed of the activities and problems of the school.
- Makes recommendations concerning the school’s administration and instruction.
- Prepares and administers the school budget.
- Supervises the maintenance of all required building records and reports.
- Works with various members of the Central administrative staff on school problems of more than in-school import, such as transportation and special services.
- Interprets and enforces district policies and administrative regulations.
- Budgets school time to provide for the efficient conduct of school instruction and business.
- Leads in the development, determination of appropriateness, and monitoring of the instructional programs
- Maintains high standards of student conduct and enforces discipline as necessary, according to due process rights of students.
- Assists in the development, revision, and evaluation of the curriculum.
- Assumes responsibility for the attendance, conduct, and maintenance of health of students.
- Assumes responsibility for his or her own professional growth and development through membership and participation in the affairs of professional organizations: attendance at regional, state, and national meetings; and enrollment in advanced courses.
- Supervises all professional, para-professional, and support personnel attached to the school.
- Participates in the selection and supervision of all building personnel.
- Conducts staff meetings to keep members informed of matters pertaining to the proper functioning of the school.
- Plans and supervises the emergency preparedness program.
- Supervises the daily use of the facilities for both academic and non-academic purposes.
- Assumes responsibility for the safety and administration of the physical plant.
- Prepares for adequate inventories of school property and for the security and accountability for that property.
- Participates in principal meetings, special education meetings, and other meetings which are required or appropriate.
- Responds to oral and written requests for information.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with local community groups and individuals to foster understanding and solicit support to overall school objectives and programs; to interpret board policies and administrative directives; and discuss and resolve individual student problems.
- Delegates authority to responsible personnel to assume responsibility for the school in the absence of the principal.
- Maintains confidentiality of staff and student information.
- Performs such other duties as the Superintendent may assign from time to time.

EVALUATION
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel.
WAGE SCHEDULE
This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Administrator Wage Schedule.
$92,500-$112,000
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
205 days as designated by contract, unless otherwise assigned by supervisor.
CLEARANCES
Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
