COURSE DETAILS:

Introduction to Welding Course

  • Basic welding techniques, equipment, and safety protocols, covering welding machines, safety standards, metal types, and blueprint reading. Instructors will guide students through hands-on practice, ensuring understanding of fundamentals and providing assessments based on practical demonstrations and written evaluations.


Advanced Welding Course

  • This course will build on introductory welding skills, focusing on advanced techniques like multi-pass and pipe welding, fabrication, and agricultural mechanical welding. Students will also apply industry standards through project-based learning, working on real-world welding challenges to develop career-ready skills.


Student-Driven Projects

  • This component supports students in conceptualizing and completing personal or community-driven welding projects, encouraging creativity and problem-solving. Instructors will provide guidance on project planning, material selection, and welding techniques while ensuring safety, precision, and assessing the project's design and execution.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Education, Welding Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Valid teaching certification in WY preferred or the willingness to obtain certification.
  • At least 2 years of experience in welding or related trades, with hands-on teaching experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, safety standards, and industry certifications.
  • Ability to effectively manage classroom environments and promote student engagement.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a passionate and experienced High School Welding Instructor to teach students the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in the welding industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding techniques, safety practices, and industry standards, along with a commitment to fostering a hands-on learning environment that encourages student growth and development.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be familiar with and abide by school district policies and to stay current in changes in such policies through procedures described by the Board.
  • Establish and foster a cooperative working relationship with the staff of the building to which the teacher is assigned, as well as with other District personnel.
  • Exercise mature and professional judgment in teaching and in associations with staff and students.
  • Participate in professional activities as part of the teaching assignment.
  • Demonstrate high standards of professionalism and ethical conduct.
  • Maintain confidentiality of information regarding colleagues, students, and parents.
  • Maintain current PTSB certification in appropriate teaching area(s).
  • Maintain adequate and current knowledge of developments within the respective teaching areas and within the areas of instruction and learning.
  • Teach the District standards in the assigned area, utilize effective planning for each day’s teaching-learning activities, clarify goal and objectives of lessons and assignments, diagnose and prescribe for student academic and effective strengths and weaknesses, evaluate student progress and achievement, and continually seek to motivate students for the learning tasks at hand.
  • Provide for reasonable care and safety of students who are assigned to them at all times.
  • Responsible for the daily safekeeping of students in their charge; must have ability to safely escort assigned students off school premises or otherwise manage students while in emergency situations. This includes following all appropriate crisis management protocols used by the District.
  • Provide proper care and reasonable security for all District property in their custody.
  • Seek to establish a school climate, which will promote appropriate student discipline. Consistently supports and assists the building staff in maintaining order and discipline among students.
  • Actively participates in Professional Learning Community discussions at grade and subject levels.
  • Utilizes instructional materials and other educational resources in a competent and effective manner.
  • Makes use of technology for instructional purposes as well as for record keeping, administrative and other non-instructional uses as may be required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as policies and regulations, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine correspondence.

Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with school board policy and administrative regulations on evaluation of certified or classified personnel.


SALARY SCHEDULE

This position will be paid according to the approved Certified Staff salary schedule.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Designated by Contract unless otherwise assigned by supervisor.


CLEARANCES

Employment is contingent on a local, state, and federal criminal background clearance.
